Pharmacology :- Laboratory
Education in Pharmacology emphasizes an integrated study of the physiology, pathophysiology and action of drugs in living systems. Research in the department focuses on study of neural and cardiology, pulmonary, epilepsy. Research in these areas is applied to clinical problems such as aging, Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, drug abuse, glaucoma, hypertension. Students Work on molecular pharmacology, Ischemia preconditioning a protective cardio-vascular event and molecular pharmacology involved in compensatory/adaptive body mechanism is being explored through various projects. Excellent research facilities are available including state-of-the art bioanalytical and pharmacology laboratories.

Pharmacology Labs
Laboratory of Physiology & Pharmacology
Provides excellent facilities for conducting experiments on physiology and pharmacology.
Pharmaceutical Chemistry :- Laboratory

The department is well known in the field of Natural Products chemistry for the isolation, characterization by classical methods coupled with the application of instrumental techniques like 1H, 13C, MS besides other usual techniques. Has also worked in the areas of lignans, terpenoids, alkaloids (with special reference to quinazolins, glycosides, flavonoids, coumarins and steroids as bioactive molecules. The work includes modification of naturally occurring bioactive molecules and synthesis of compounds based on SAR studies. Major thrust area has been the chemistry of Indian Pipers, synthesis of bronchodilators, anti-inflammatory and anti cancer compounds based on the “:Leads” obtained from Natural Products.

Presently, the research group has been successful in getting high valued bioactive compounds from endophytes, synthesis of chalcone based anti-cancer compounds, SAR studies of combretastatin, synthesis of quinazolines as potent bronchodilator and oxytocic compounds, monoterpenoidl, sesquiterpenoids and their modified form as potential drugs.

Provides adequate facilities for training in pharmaceutical biology, identification and standardization of crude drugs and phytochemical screening.
Quality Assurance

Quality assurance, or QA for short, refers to planned and systematic production processes that provide confidence in a product's suitability for its intended purpose. It is a set of activities intended to ensure that products (goods and/or services) satisfy customer requirements in a systematic, reliable fashion. Two key principles characterise QA: "fit for purpose" (the product should be suitable for the intended purpose) and "right first time" (mistakes should be eliminated). It is important to realize also that quality is determined by the intended users, clients or customers, not by society in general. Pharmacy industry is one of the industry which demands these principles in toto and keeping abreast of the advancements, APGI College of pharmacy has started this branch with latest equipment and also with latest tools to train students for the coming years. The lab is equipped with HPLC, UV, stability chambers.
